Our History & Identity

At the Origins of BERAPSAD DRC

The Research Bureau and Participatory Action for Health and Community Development in the Democratic Republic of Congo (BERAPSAD DRC) was officially created on January 31, 2020. The organization was born from the observation that research and development activities require synergy of action and rigorous management, bringing together experts from various fields to meet the needs of the most vulnerable communities.

Our Recognition

BERAPSAD DRC is a non-profit association under Congolese law, apolitical and non-denominational. It is officially registered with the Ministry of State, Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals under N° JUST/SG/20/TL/6508/2023 and F92/56.552.

Evolution and Impact

Since its creation about 6 years ago, the organization has collaborated with local, national, and international partners, such as UN Women, UNDP, the World Bank, and many others. Our interventions cover varied fields such as peace, participatory governance, the fight against gender-based violence, health, and economic inclusion. We support, in particular, 21 Village Savings and Credit Associations (VSLA) grouping more than 525 women, as well as many households displaced by food security and protection programs.
